S9 Premium Offices and Apartments

We prepared an invited competition proposal for a residential and office building on a downtown plot in Budapest, at the corner of Sas Street and Arany János Street.

The squeezed plot is fully built on the Ground Floor. A restaurant, an underground parking exit, and the entrance lobby are located on this level. From the 1st Floor upwards, the L-shaped construction encloses the inner courtyard.  The layout can be flexible per level. The residential units and offices can be accessed from the circulation core located in the middle of the floors.

The pillar frame structural grid allows the interior design to be shaped freely. The pillar frame also appears characteristically on the facade, where the vertical lines of the pillars and the horizontal lines of the slabs stand out. The elegance of the building, designed with a regular facade rhythm, is given by the large opening glass surfaces, the use of noble materials, and fine details.

The horizontal dividing ledges with finely profiled limestone cladding, and the vertical solid surfaces with bronze-colored, structured patterned metal cladding, fit into the eclectic downtown streetscape with a harmonious use of color.
